Bluecology, in conjunction with One People One Reef, is sponsoring a Youth Community Service and Reef Conservation Project in Ulithi atoll, a small atoll in the Pacific Ocean near Yap and Palau.  This year’s summer program will take place from June 12 – July 1, 2020.  The program is geared towards college and upper level high school students.

Applicants who are accepted into the program will learn about ocean and marine life conservation and have the opportunity to perform scientific research under the guidance of university professors.  Students will go snorkeling and conduct coral reef monitoring.  They will also learn about the manta ray and green sea turtle populations found in Ulithi and Yap.  Participants will meet members of the community, learn about their unique local island culture and customs, and engage in community service.
