My six-year-old daughter is left-handed and has displayed this left side dominant trait since she was a baby. My three-year-old daughter, on the other hand, still uses both hands interchangeably.
At the dinner table one night, I mentioned to my husband that our youngest was quite ambidextrous.
Upon overhearing this, our little one piped up with, “You mean I’m a boy?”
Wow – that means she must know what “ambiguous” means – LOL!

My brother used to be like that, particularly when fencing. He’d get half way through a bout, and suddenly you’d end up thinking “hang on, wasn’t he left handed a moment ago?”
It’s something to be encouraged, though some people seem to end up just picking one hand and sticking with it.
