My parents took my two girls to a Memorial Day parade today.  The kids loved the marching bands, the clowns riding around in little cars, the fire truck, and the Statue of Liberty on stilts, but most of all, they loved the candy that was thrown out to the spectators.  They each came home with a bucket full of treats.

I don’t remember parades being quite the candy fest they seem to be today.  I think they collected more candy in an hour, just standing on the sidewalk, than they did on Halloween, hiking from house to house.
