When entering the library one day, my four-year-old dawdled behind, carefully watching each footfall. I assumed she was just being slow and told her to hurry up.

Upon hearing this explanation, my seven-year-old daughter immediately began jumping on every crack, howling with glee and claiming extra points for cracks that intersected.
