My four-year-old daughter has decided that she’s not satisfied with the name her father and I gave her, and she’s opted to choose a new one. She’s now insisting that everyone call her Elliana, which she spells “Leano.” She’s now writing it at the top of her art projects at preschool and at home.
Lol! So, how did she come up with that name specifically? Does she have a friend by that name? Hmmm…

She just made it up. She was experimenting with sounds for a while, until that combination of syllables struck her as “her own.”

I went through the same thing when I was 8. Amber was too exotic of a name at the time so I went by my middle name for about 3 days in school. When the kids passed out the graded homework for the teachers no one knew Lee. 🙂
