My kids have been throwing around the concept of death in a rather casual way lately. I don’t think they’re trying to be morbid, but they just don’t seem to think it’s a big deal yet. Here’s a few choice phrases I’ve overheard this past week or so:
- “I’m tired, but I’m not dead yet.” (Very Monty Python.)
- “Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday… Then you’re dead.”
- “I’ll be a baby again after I’m dead.” (This one was from my youngest. Sounds like she subscribes to the philosophy of reincarnation.)
i love when kids pick up on the concept. they sure came up with some beauts! the second one is my favorite.
