Anticipating Mother’s Day

My three-year-old came out of preschool yesterday shouting, “Happy Mother’s Day!”

Then she gave me a beautiful sunflower in a pot that she had planted.  It had a laminated picture of her face in a flower that she helped draw attached to a stick and stuck in the flower pot. Needless to say, it made my day.

Then, she told me, “On Mother’s Day, I’m going to give you a big hug and kiss.”

“Oh, I can’t wait that long,” I told her. “Can I have a hug and kiss now?”

“No, you have to wait till Mother’s Day.”
