My parents-in-law are in town this weekend, and they treated us to dinner at our favorite local Thai food restaurant. My two-year-old ate all of the calamari and fish out of the Tom Kha soup, while my five-year-old ate all of the eggs and tofu out of her Pad Thai, but left the noodles. She also asked if she could have an order of the decorative but edible carrot flowers that garnished the main entrees. Both girls squealed with delight when they were given little paper umbrellas with their drinks. I have to admit, I still get pretty giddy about umbrella drinks myself!
They just know what they like best. I almost always save a piece of crispy pepperoni for last from my pizza.
