My children have grown used to me getting caught up in my writing and other desk work.  When they see me at my computer, they sometimes close the glass French doors to my office, while they play (not so quietly) in the living room.

Yesterday, my two-year-old told me, “Bye-bye Mommy.  See you in a couple days!”

She didn’t intend to imply that she was going anywhere, but rather that she didn’t expect me to emerge from my office for (what would be in her world) a very long time.
