How did you ring in the new year? We celebrated with good friends, kids, and grandparents. Five-year-old triplet boys slept over, and surprisingly, we had all the kids tucked in by 9:00 p.m. The grown-ups stayed up until midnight visiting, playing games, eating various snacks and sweets, and drinking rootbeer floats. This is the second year in a row featuring this particular type of New Year’s Eve party. Admittedly, it is a very different New Year’s celebration than the parties of the past where I celebrated with friends in Newport Beach, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Santa Cruz, Miami, and Philadelphia, but it was time well spent, and we hope to make it an annual event.
Today, we went to the movies to see “The Tale of Despereaux”. It was an entertaining and inspiring movie that the whole family could enjoy.
Sounds like a fun way to celebrate the New Year. Husband and I watched Dan in Real Life and made a pizza.

We actually made pizza for dinner too before everyone came over. My husband rolls out a fresh crust from scratch. It’s delicious!

Same way I always ring in the new year: Turn on Jools Holland’s annual Hootenany, then realise about midnight that I actually don’t like his rythmn and blues piano at all.
