On Bluestalking Reader’s site, she posted about British Nobel Prize Winner Doris Lessing’s prediction that Barack Obama risks assassination if he is elected U.S. President.

My Other Car blogger posted about NBC’s David Shuster’s remark that Hillary Clinton had been “pimping out” her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, to set up meetings with super delegates on behalf of her mother’s campaign.

The U.S. version of democracy is supposed to serve as a conduit for civil liberties, basic rights and freedoms, but we have yet to elect a woman or a minority as president of the United States of America.  Regardless of which side of the political party line that you sit, why is this such an issue?  For crying out loud, isn’t it about damn time that someone other than a white male represent our country?  (Nothing against white males — I happen to be married to one.  He’s very white, with freckles, and I find him utterly irresistible.)
