Greetings from NYC

I’m in NYC right now visiting my brother.  New Yorkers this summer are wearing tank tops, sandals, and scarves.  The summer clothes help the locals beat the heat, while the long light-weight scarves of all shapes and colors help combat the air conditioning found in every shop, restaurant, museum, and theater.

Last night, after dining in Chinatown, we walked over to the red, white and green-lit splendor of Little Italy for some Italian ice dessert.  We strolled through SoHo, Nolita, and the Lower East Side, and did a little shopping.  I felt somewhat naked without a collection of colorfully displayed tattoos, but it was fun admiring the walking artwork of my cohorts and others who passed by.

While here, I enjoyed visiting with my friends Sunny and Patrick and their charming daughter.  Patrick Conlon‘s tattoo studio, East Side Ink, was filmed yesterday for MTV.  Sunny runs the swanky Peekskill Coffee House in Peekskill, NY.  Sunny and I have been friends since we were about the same age as her daughter is now, during our youthful days growing up in southern California.
